Biography
Marie Tomanova grew up in Mikulov, Czech Republic. After studying painting, she moved to New York and turned to photography. Her work explores themes of identity, gender, immigration, and memory.
Tomanova’s debut monograph Young American was published in 2019 by Paradigm Publishing. It sold out shortly after its publication. In July 2021 her second volume on youth culture in New York City titled New York, New York was published by Hatje Cantz.
