Margret: Chronik einer Affäre is the record of a businessman’s affair with his colleague “Margret.” The reader is thrust into voyeurism, with hundreds of photos before and after sex, each time a different hotel, a new outfit.

The photos were found in a briefcase and document the course of an affair between the secretary Margret S. and her boss, the building materials dealer Günter K. from Cologne. He not only photographed his lover but also collected all sorts of documents such as tickets, hotel and restaurant bills, and recorded details of the spicy meetings on notepads and calendars.

The book shows an emphatically sober and at the same time obsessive, authentic documentation of the affair between Günter K and his secretary. It functions as a custom painting of the late 1960s. The photographs themselves are only amateur photos (the first still in black and white, then in color), but they impressively show the course of the affair and the change in the way the two interact with each other.
